FAQs

Is the treatment safe?
The medication has been in medical use for over 50 years, when it was first used to treat patients with eye squints.
Since then is has been used a wide variety of medical uses, more recently in cosmetic therapy. It has a proven safety record when administered
by well trained and experienced doctors.

What is the product?
Our Anti-Wrinkle injections contain a chemical called Botulinum Toxin which is produced by a bacterium called Clostridium Botulinum.
The toxin acts upon the muscles causing them to relax, and therefore improving the appearance of skin creases and wrinkles seen on movement
of the facial muscles. It can also have a positive effect on mild static wrinkles, softening their appearance

How is the treatment done?
All patients will require a FREE skin health assessment appointment prior to any treatment. The treatment itself take around 20 minutes and pictures of your skin will be taken as part of your treatment record. A very fine and short needle is used to administer the product to the desired area. There maybe some slight, short-lived discomfort on administration and the injection site may have some redness and/or localised swelling for 1-2 hours following treatment.

What happens after treatment?
There will be little to notice over the first 24-48 hours apart from some possible localised skin irritation at the injection site. You are encouraged NOT to massage the area, avoid strenuous exercise and application of makeup for about 24 hours. The product will start taking affect from around 3 days, with peak affect at around 2-3 weeks. A review appointment on the clinic will be arranged at this stage. Desired results are variable with individuals
and the type of administration, but effects can last on average 3-6 months.
